Flirting Disaster? It Could Be Fun

Is the sun out or did you just smile at me? Have you ever used that line before while flirting with a lady and instead of a nice cozy smile you got a wonderful slap on your face? Well, that is just an example of a flirting disaster. Flirting has been said to be a way of connecting with another person from the heart but it can be misinterpreted by the other person and become a big disaster. For example you see an attractive woman across the room and you wish with all your heart she could be yours, you stare at her flirtatiously in your attempt to make her notice you but she completely misreads you. She thinks either her fly is open or something is wrong with her outfit. She checks herself and seeing nothing wrong with her, she gives you a cold stare, one that says, ‘you are sick you know,’ and that is the last you see of her.

We have all had our fair share of flirting disaster, for example the day you decided to try passing your leg under the table to rub someone’s feet and ended up rubbing the wrong feet and all you got was a splash of cold soda all over your shirt, or the day you complimented someone’s dressing and the person thought you were coming on to them. May be also the day your girlfriend caught you throwing a flirtatious line, something like ‘are you a broom for you surely swept me off my feet’ and she left you. She thought you were cheating on her, it was a flirting disaster but all in all you had fun flirting and given a chance you will do it over and over again till you get it right or at least till you get what you want.

Although flirting sometimes can be very disastrous, it can be of great help. It can help you know if the other person is interested in you by the way they react to your flirtation thus saving you the awkwardness of telling someone you fancy that you like them only to be embarrassed. A shy person can also use flirting as a way of attracting someone to them because it is very easy to compliment someone on their dressing, eyes or body even if you are shy of striking a conversation. You only need not to over do it, for if you were looking to have a long lasting relationship using flirting, it could turn out to be a flirting disaster if you over did it.






Though most relationships start off with flirtation, it does not necessarily mean the relationship will last for long. It could be that the other party was flirting with you for casual sex. It would be a flirting disaster if you were to commit yourself to the relationship. It is always good to find out what your ‘flirting partner’ is looking for so that you do not expect a lot from him or her. Otherwise for all those people who love flirting, fear not, check to see if the person you intend to flirt with has a friendly face first. We all learn from our flirting mistakes, flirt all you can and have fun while doing it.
