Have you ever seen a magician at a party walking around doing close-up magic? Everyone seems fascinated by it - even if the magician isn’t that good. There are probably just as many people hoping the performer will flop as those that are fascinated by it.

This brings me to an interesting way to approach women - by using magic.

Many guys will hang around an old haunt looking at all the great women come and go, but will never actually approach them. If they do approach someone, it’s usually after having watched her for quite a while, built up their courage (or drank enough of it) and then they approach. These guys also often fail simply because they don’t have a good ice-breaker - or any real game for that matter.

The benefit of learning a few magic tricks is that it both gives you a reason to approach someone and acts as the ice-breaker, all at once. It doesn’t even matter if you’re good at it or not! Most people will feel badly for you if the trick doesn’t go well and let you off the hook saying, “Well, at least you tried!”

In fact, you did. That’s the point of this approach. You put yourself out there and took a small risk. If you remember my article from last week, “The Three Keys to the Approach”, (http://beingaman.com/articles.asp?id=467) you’ll remember how important it is to stay positive, confident and upbeat all while putting yourself “out there”.

What’s really great about this approach is that it’s the trick itself that is “out there” - not you. Further, you don’t have to risk much as most everyone is interested in watching. You can approach individual women or groups of people - it doesn’t matter.

I’m not going to get into a bunch of magic tricks here as there are many good books on the subject. You can just learn a few fun ones and use them to approach anyone, anywhere.

Of course the magic is only the ice-breaker. You then need to be able to carry it somewhere. You can’t just make a coin disappear and then ask for a phone number! That is a good way to make your target disappear!

Instead, you have to establish some rapport once you’ve broken the ice, but at least the ice is now broken and the transition should be much easier. Keep in mind that you can also use a few magic tricks to build the rapport after the approach. Once you start talking to someone and get the ball rolling, throwing in a couple of magic tricks is a fun, safe way to draw in your target.

Best regards…

Cigar is usually seen to become a part of individual’s lifestyle and determinant of one’s status in the society. It gained world wide popularity, made its own way through special occasions and valued by veterans, rich and famous personalities.

Cigar has three countries of origin and several kinds of cigars sold in cigar shop or store. It’s really difficult to find the best cigar that satisfies the cravings of a man to smoke.

Here are basic tips when you want to buy a cigar, be it online or at a cigar shop. Fresh cigar when pinched displays a tender wrapper and binder. While inspecting a box of cigar, discoloration of each piece should not be present as it might be a sign of a bad cigar. When talking about the size of a cigar try to consider its length and ring. A cigar with a seven inch in length with a bigger diameter will take hours to finish. While a five inch cigar and smaller in diameter is the best shot for a quick smoke after lunch. For the ring, the bigger the ring size the cooler the cigar smokes will be. The next will be the rating based on quality, appearance, construction and way it is smoked. Aroma or flavors should be in balance to give the cigar its overall taste.

A cigar with a rating of below seventy is not worth your money while those have a rating that ranges from 70-100 varies from having a good commercial property to classics which qualify for extra bucks from your pocket. When buying a cigar for a special occasion, be sure to purchase a good one. You can ask cigar shops for a best cigar they have or check on online cigar shop for recommendations. Don’t fall for the boxes with pretty colors for its contents might be disappointing. A $10 cigar box with flashing color might be as same quality to a box next to it that only costs $4. The best cigar will have the simplest box and simplest band.

A cigar with a maduro or natural wrapper tends to be sweeter tasting than wrappers that haven’t aged as long. You can buy cigars online to determine what taste of cigar suits you before buying a box. Inexperienced or novice smokers should start with smaller size cigars to build up the smoking skills before having the huge havanas which take an hour to smoke. For pro or experienced smokers a variety of cigar can be found in online cigar shop.

When you want to buy cigar online, determine the type of cigar you want before shopping. Explore for particular clues such as the type of cigar, the country where the cigars had grown or made, and the price that you’re willing to pay. Buy cigar samplers before buying a complete set for this enables you to try of cigar brands or styles of cigar. Samplers are mostly from different parts of the world that has been aged in various ways it is very helpful if you’re a novice. Buying of cigar is too costly; in determining your favorite cigars you could save some of your cash.

Discover how you could start your own free blog and start making money online.

Blogging for dollars is quickly becoming a profitable venture. More and more people are finding out that utilizing a blog to generate a stream of income is fast, easy and cheap. There is plenty of information about using a blog in order to make money and you can be one of those people that are making money from writing information about their area of expertise.

The Various Ways to Generate Multiple Streams of Income
The most common way that bloggers generate income from their blogs is with Adsense, Chitika’s eMiniMalls, Text Link Ads and WidgetBucks to name a few of the more popular advertising options. You can also utilize BlogAds which is one of the first ad networks specifically geared to blogs.

Having a business to sponsor you allows merchants to advertise directly on your blog. There are more bloggers exploring the possibilities of sponsoring with advertisers. You may also find a business that will pay you to write specific content on your blog as well.

The Beauty of Affiliate Programs
Joining or beginning an affiliate program is one terrific way to generate a stream of income from your blogs. There are literally hundreds of affiliate programs you can explore. Partnering with businesses that are comparable to your area of expertise can be profitable for you both.

Seminars, Courses and E-Books
Many bloggers are beginning to develop digital assets that will support their blogs and add streams of revenue. Bloggers who are confident in their area of expertise are increasingly writing e-books and offering seminars and courses that are run by them. In this way you can pass along what you know to aid others in making money, and make a profit for yourself at the same time.

Exploring Opportunities from Blog Networks
With the increasing popularity of blogs, there has been a huge rise in networks that cater to bloggers. Blog networks can aid you in creating a profitable blog for yourself or help you to connect and partner with other bloggers. If you have a flair for writing, you can write for other blogs if you don’t have your own. Though it may be tough to find a writing job with some of the larger networks, there are always people looking for bloggers to join their network. They typically pay their bloggers using an assortment of models for payment. It is not uncommon to find a blogger that writes not only for themselves, but for other blog networks for the added income.

Bloggers for Hire
More and more businesses are seeing the advantage to having a blog for their goods and services. Many of the companies have people within their company to do their writing, but many more are looking to hire bloggers to provide them with interesting and unique content that will drive traffic to their sites. There are plenty of sites where you can find blog work if you are determined to find it.

Bloggers in the Print Media
Becoming more common these days is newspapers, non-blog websites and magazines that are looking for good writers. Bloggers have plenty of experience writing and many of them are proud to have published a book. Writing for print media is far more profitable than just writing for the internet. You can easily find yourself with your article published in a major newspaper or magazine.

Ask for Donations
It is not uncommon to find a blog with a donation button or a tip jar these days. One such blogger was able to leave his job and become a blogger full time all because of the donations from his readership. More bloggers are able to blog full time after they have conducted a drive for fund raising.

Flip Your Blog
Just as in the real estate market, there are buyers who flip houses for a profit; you can do the same with your blog. Not only can this be done on an individual level, but it can be done on a network level as well. If your blog generates a lot of traffic and has a good affiliate program in place, you can easily sell your blog to someone who wants to break into the business without having to worry about the set up.

Start Merchandising
There are a number of blogs and bloggers that have almost a cult following. These bloggers advertise branded merchandise for their readers to purchase. This can be anything from T-shirts, mugs or pens. Though the smaller blogs may not find this as profitable as larger blogs, it may be something you might want to look into.

This leads to more white space and every time a para begins, reader’s mind is more focussed.
* Use of bold, italics and underlines in your text.
* Use of quotes in your text
* Use of graphics within text to emphasize and illustrate points.Chunking has dual advantage of benefiting writer and reader. It is a win win situation.Marketers able to convey information more efficiently.Readers are able to find what they were searching for without spending much time.So next time you writeArticle Search, do not forget to chunk.Happy chunking.

California fun in the sun and on the greens.
When you think of sunny and beautiful, the “perfect vacation” state of California most likely pops into your mind first. The spectacular beaches, the exciting shopping and night life, and of course the celebrities buzzing about help create a great setting for immense fun anywhere you look.

In addition to the decadent hotels, amusement parks, and spas are many captivating golf course resorts that are making their own claim to the scores of vacationers who frequent expansive and ruggedly delicate California.

Over the recent years, golf has gained in popularity and become a favorite pastime for a multitude of both men and women across the country and around the world. A trip to a golf course resort is surprisingly just as, if not more relaxing than even a weekend at a posh spa. More than a few of these stunning golf course resorts make it possible to get your golfing fix and indulge in spa treatments at the same time.

King Of The Hill…Or Is It The Green?
Before you can begin to pamper yourself with more golf games than you can shake a putter at, you need to find which luscious golf course resort to stay in. Prior to calling a travel agent or visiting a discount travel web site, surf on over to golf guru site of Putt.com for golf course resort descriptions and contact information. You may find that you can get a better deal by calling the resort directly than through another party.

It may be difficult to decide which view The Lodge at Torrey Pines golf course resort is better: the exquisite golf course that surrounds the Craftsman style resort , the dramatic mountain back drop, or the “take your breath away” view of the Pacific Ocean just below you. The famed golf course certainly gives your golf game a run for its money and proves with every hole why it has such an excellent reputation.

California is known for being bigger than life at times. This seems to be the driving force behind the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and Spa. And grand it is; from the acres and acres of succulent gardens and inviting water fountains to any of the seven glistening swimming pools to the two new exceptionally brilliant and dynamic golf courses. Indulgent and pleasurable can only begin to describe what your stay would be like here.

Mere words can not depict the incomparable majesty of the gorgeous scenery, accommodations, and the extraordinary gold course that await you in Rancho Mirage at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa. The buildings are cozily situated at the base of the breath taking San Jacinto Mountain Range, which offers guests are beautiful view from their private patio. Ted Robinson conjured up one amazing twenty-seven hole golf course to excite, possibly frustrateFree Articles, and surely inspire each and every golfer who tees up.

Top Notch Golf Courses

A discussion of top notch golf courses is a lot different than a discussion of favorite golf courses. Although each golfer might have his own favorite, there are a few that have always stood out.

Anyone with a serious interest in golf will have heard of St. Andrews in Scotland. This is not only a Mecca for serious golfers, but is also where the game originated. St. Andrews is really a whole series of different world class courses that surround the town and run along the rugged Scottish coast near the town of St. Andrews. Although some of the courses are over 100 years old, there are some new and modern courses mixed in for variety. Despite year round play, these courses are among the best maintained in the World. It appears that the Scotch have the experience to do this job correctly. They are known for hosting the British Open.

The courses at St. Andrews are across an ocean which poses a slight disadvantage for the American golfer and many who make this journey are a bit shocked by the higher costs and green fees here. Most people are too blown away by the awesome scenery and the sense of golfing history to notice and the thrill of playing St. Andrews is rarely a disappointment.

The Augusta National Golf Club is another top notch course. It was designed and built in 1933 by golf legend Bobby Jones and has hosted the Masters Golf Tournament since 1934. It is a private club golf course that has been in the news recently for more than just the Master’s Tournament. There are only about 300 members. The membership fees range fro $250,000 to $500,000 a year and in its entire history no female has ever been a member. Although women are allowed to play the course as guests of members, they are restricted from membership. This caused a bit of a stink recently as the National Organization for Women put pressure on the club to change its policy.

Pebble Beach in California is like St. Andrews in Scotland. It is not just one golf course, but rather a series of top notch golf courses all in one location. Pebble Beach could be better called a golf destination than a course. There are seven public or private courses located at Pebble Beach. The Pebble Beach Golf Links is one of the public courses and is possibly the most top notch course in America. It is the one of only two courses in America to make the top of the “best courses” list in Golf Digest.

St. Andrews, Augusta, and Pebble Beach might be the most top notch golf courses in the World, although another writer might pick another for this list. In the end, the choice might be personal. The most top notch course in the world, to an individual, might be where they shot their first par or even where they first learned to play and love the game.

Nike Hybrid Golf Clubs are available in two versions of two different models, for a total of 4 product lines. These include the Slingshot Hybrid and Slingshot Tour Hybrid, the CPR3 Wood and CPR3 Iron-Wood. This article will review the attributes of each of these hybrid golf clubs.

Slingshot Hybrid and Slingshot Tour Hybrid
Both of these clubs have an MSRP of $199 US for either steel or graphite shafts. The Slingshot Tour is targeted for low handicap golfers, and the Slingshot is for less skilled players. Both clubs aim to deliver a center of gravity (CG) that is low and as far back behind the face as possible. This type of club head design is geared to making the ball get up into the air easier and to be forgiving of off-center hits. Both clubs look like a hybrid or small fairway wood with the upper back section removed. This is readily evident on the company’s web site. The weight thus removed is then redistributed in a thick sole and a thick bar around the back of the clubs called a Slingback bar. The result of this design is to have 70% of the mass of the club head below the equator of the ball. The face plate on both clubs is made of 455 stainless steel which is normal for high-end hybrid clubs like these.

There are 5 clubs available in the Slingshot line. These are 2-6 hybrids. Perhaps it bears repeating that hybrid clubs are designed to replace long irons that are difficult for most golfers to hit solidly on a consistent basis. A 3 hybrid will replace your 3 iron, for example. All the clubs in the Slingshot product line are available for both left and right handed golfers. There is no women’s version of this model available, or for any of the Nike hybrid golf clubs models for that matter. Of course both steel and graphite shafts are available. Custom fitting options exist for club length (-1/2” to +2” from standard) and for lie angles (-2 to +4 degrees from standard). One would need to have a custom club fitting to know if he needs to order any of these changes. This is a good idea in any case for a person thinking of investing in a set of new golf clubs.

As stated, the Slingshot Tour Hybrid is for low handicap players. In fact Nike notes that their Tour staff requested such a model be developed. Four clubs are available in 1-4 hybrids. The shafts on the Slingshot Tour Hybrid are slightly heavier than on the Slingshot. The same options to customize club length and lie angle can be chosen.

CPR3 Wood and CPR3 Iron-Wood
These two hybrids have an MSRP of $139 with steel shafts and $159 with graphite. The CPR3 Wood clubs have a deeper sole and have more of a wood bottom footprint, thus the name. The upper back section is cut out, and thus again weight can be redistributed around the periphery of the sole to lower the CG and move it back. 2-5 hybrids are available, and all lofts come in left handed models. No women’s versions of this product line are available, nor are there any options for customization as there are with the Slingshots.

The CPR3 Iron-Wood has a smaller footprint which is more like a typical hybrid club. This version is targeted to lower handicap golfers and is available in 1-4 hybrids in either steel or graphite shafts. Left handed clubs are available, and as with the CPR3 Wood, there are no custom options for club length or lie angle.

Nike Hybrid Golf Clubs do not come with versions to provide a hook bias to help golfers with a consistent slice, or adjustable club head weight versions as is offered by Taylor Made, for example. It will be interesting to see if the popularity of those design features or the demand for women’s hybrids will be high enough to motivate Nike to add these types of clubs to their product offerings. Nike is certainly a top rank golf company, however, so if one of their models fits you properly, you will be playing with excellent clubs.

Jewelry- Epitome of a Bride

Wedding day… The most beautiful day in a woman’s life, the day she wishes to stand out of the rest. The day when she gets to look like a princess, with her prince charming; her knight in shining armor, by her side, celebrating their love and compassion for each other together. Beautiful indeed; but for this blissful dream to come true, there goes in a lot of effort.

To look like a princess, you need to get everything right; your hair, your gown, your make-up and most importantly your jewelry. In recent times jewelry has become an indispensable part of a bride’s ensemble. Be it a simple pearl necklace, or a beautiful pair of earrings, or even a diamond tiara; jewelry sure add that special something to your wedding ensemble.

Selecting the right kind of jewelry largely depends on the bridal gown; whether it is strapless or has a low neckline, or a gown with a high neck. In case of strapless gowns and gowns with low necklines; necklace and earrings will complete the look. In case of gowns with high necks, a beautiful pair of earrings will do wonders.

So how to decide what jewelry will go best with your bridal couture? It doesn’t really require any sort of expertise. Just a few simple tips will help.
1. You can never go wrong with pearls. They are the ideal choice when it comes to traditional wedding jewelry. They are the epitome of love and purity and go well with the white and pink gowns. They are simple and serene, yet adding that air of elegance to your look.
2. Bling it on! Diamonds will definitely make you shine like no other. Scintillating diamond jewelry will definitely make you look like a zillion bucks. Just remember not to go overboard with a lot of diamonds. Keep it simple, classy and glamorous.
3. Bracelets can be worn with sleeveless or half sleeved or even on gloves.
4. Make sure to choose the right earring: if you have a narrow face, then dangling earrings will suit you the best. If a round face then button earrings should be your ideal choice. And in case you are not adorning a necklace, then a statement making earrings will definitely add that special spark.
5. If you wish to look like a beautiful princess, tiara is your perfect accessory.
6. Your engagement ring will show your love and commitment for your spouse.

Now that you know all about bridal jewelry, one last advice- always remember to keep it simple and stylish, because when it comes to bridal jewelry, less is more!

Lots of people that rent an Altea holiday villa or an Altea holiday apartment do so because of the privaleged golfcourse of Don Cayo.

The Don Cayo Golf Club was founded in 1974 by Luis Campomanes Asumendi within the “El Aramo” Urban Development Project on the skirts of the Sierra de Altea mountains. It has a beautifull view to the sea from the main building and from a great part of the course. The course sits within the municipal area of Altea, a Mediterranean town standing out for the beauty of its historic town centre and its special sunny atmosphere. This has made it one of the favourite Mediterranean hideaways for artists, who come to work and live here from many parts of the world. Thanks to its special charm, Altea was chosen as the site for the Fine Arts Campus of the Miguel Hernandez University of Alicante, and it has a new Fine Arts Palace and a UNESCO Music venue as well.

A privileged enclave

The course nestles between the Sierra Bernia and the Mediterranean Sea - an idyllic spot in which to enjoy the beauties of nature. But apart from picturesque surroundings, it boasts an incredibly attractive design, making it a superb place for a great game of golf.

The course is owned by the Don Cayo Golf Club and its members, set up as a non-profit sports association. The Club is therefore semiprivate, and its members share the fairways and facilities with fee-paying golfers who come to visit.

Course improvements

Over the last two years, the club has become one of finest in the province, thanks to improvements in maintenance, upkeep and even course design. Special attention has been paid to the fairways, the slopes, the surrounding pine trees and landscaping, and new marble sand bunkers have been introduced along the course.

These initiatives were completed by a remodelling of the itineraries, so the course opened last spring with 18 new tee-offs, packing two completely different rounds into one 9-hole course. The two options are marked in different colours on the course cards and the greens.

With its revamped design, Don Cayo now enjoys a new lease on life. Players never have to repeat a single hole, making the game much more fun. Among the most significant novelties are par changes at 4 holes, hole 5 was reduced by 100 metres, the fairway at hole 1 has been modified with 4 new bunkers flanking its right side, making the dog-ieg more challenging despite the removal of a bunker formerly located right on the fairway.

Future reforms

All these improvements have been made under the new management team, with Alexis Garcia-Valdes as manager and Rosa Sastre as greenkeeper, giving golfers the best they could possibly devise. And another new stage will be completed over the next 3 years, with the renovation of the irrigation system and the future installation of a new water purifier that will enable a large lake to be created within the layout.

Once all this work has been carried out, there are also plans to renovate some of the greens.

Whatever you are planning to do on your costa blanca holiday, if you are a golf fan you can´t miss out on Don Cayo!

Ping Hybrid Golf Clubs

There are two product lines in the Ping hybrid golf clubs lineup. These are called the Rapture hybrids and the G5 hybrids. The Rapture is the newer of the lines, and as you will surmise from the discussion below, Ping club designers were working to obtain a center of gravity (CG) that is lower and farther back in the club face to make the ball easier to get up into the air.

Rapture Hybrid Golf Clubs
Three different materials are welded together to make the Rapture club head. The body of the head is made of 17-4 stainless steel. A tungsten nickel sole plate is welded onto the bottom of the club head adding weight to the sole and lowering the CG while also forcing the CG farther back from the club face. This is a design goal for every make of hybrid club and helps provide a higher launch angle. The face plate is made from what is called 475 super steel, and this is said to produce a “hot responsive hitting area”. The appearance of the Ping hybrids is pleasing with a sloped crown. This feature also helps to produce a CG that is low and back in the club face. The club head itself is fairly large and forgiving of off-center hits. The Rapture line offers 3 clubs, 2-4H. There is a good selection of standard graphite shafts, and of course steel shafts are also available. All 3 Rapture clubs are available for lefties. The MSRP for the Rapture is $225 with graphite and $195 with steel shafts. This club does not have a ladies version, but the G5 line, to be discussed next, does.

G5 Hybrid Gold Clubs
The G5 hybrids were the precursors of the Rapture line, and they look similar, since both sport the pleasing sloped crown look. The main difference in the two clubs is that the Rapture has the tungsten nickel sole plate and the G5 does not. Another difference is price. The MSRP for the G5 is $175 in graphite and $150 with steel shafts. The face plate of the G5 hybrid is machined from 455 stainless steel, which is used in most of the hybrids in the industry at this point. The club head is compact and a bit smaller than the Rapture. There are four versions of the G5, 2-5H. Once again there are a number of graphite standard shaft choices, and steel shafts can also be used. All the clubs are available in left-handed versions. For the ladies a 5H and 6H are available.

As is the case with most of the name brand club makers, Ping is recognizing the trend and the need for custom club fitting. There are so many hybrid golf clubs to choose from that one should invest $50-$150 or so in a custom club fitting session, preferably with a certified professional club maker who has all the needed equipment to provide a top notch fitting experience. After all, if you are going to purchase a new set of clubs, you can easily spend $1,500 or more, and you might as well have clubs that fit and will allow you to get the most out of your game. Once you have a proper club fitting and know the technical characteristics of the clubs that would be best for your particular swing, you can make an informed choice about whether to choose Ping hybrid golf clubs or some other brand. To get started with this and get a feel for what a proper club fitting entails, you can fill out the web fitting form on the Ping web site. I also strongly recommend that anyone planning to buy new clubs should read the excellent book by Tom Wishon, “The Search for the Perfect Golf Club”.

Golf Swing Sequencing - The Hidden Secret For Effortless Power

The sequencing of your golf swing has a large effect on the potential distance you can hit the golf ball. And if you get it wrong you’ll be costing yourself a lot of distance. So if you’re like almost every golfer that has ever lived, you want to hit the golf ball as long as possible. But to do this you need to understand golf swing sequencing.

So let’s get started by looking at what should be happening in the backswing and in what sequence.

When you start your backswing you should do so with the big muscles e.g. your back and shoulders. You should not start your backswing with your hands e.g. picking the club up.

Now as you’re starting the backswing by turning your shoulders and back you also need to shift your weight to your right foot. And you should continue to move your weight to your right foot (for a right hander) all throughout the turning of your backswing so that when you reach the top of the backswing position you have about 90% of your weight on your right foot.

So you can sum up the backswing as a shift and turn.

Now at what part of the golf swing does the most power come from?

It’s the transition. Now the transition in the golf swing is the time when you change directions from taking the club back to bringing it down.

If what I’ve just said wasn’t true then you’d have golfers simply picking up the club and putting it into the perfect top of the backswing position and then swinging from that position. But that doesn’t happen and never will because it’s the change of directions from moving the club back to bringing it down where the real power in the golf swing comes from. And that’s the key place in the golf swing where most amateur golfers lose a heck of a lot of distance. This is through a lack of the correct golf swing sequencing. Let me explain.

Imagine you’ve reached the top of your backswing position. What should start the downswing?

The correct answers is: The weight shift should!

To start the downswing you need to first move your weight back to your left foot. Then you need to move your left knee towards the target, then the left hip needs to move towards the target, followed by the left shoulder and finally your hands should move.

The sad thing is that most golfers start their downswing with their hands and that’s a killer as far as creating distance is concerned. You’ve got to start the downswing with the weight shift and then the left knee.

So go out and try this now.

To do this I want you to swing slowly back to the very top of your backswing. Then when you’ve almost reached the top of your backswing position I then want you to move your weight back to your left foot and then move your left knee towards the target. Once you’ve got the feeling of doing this then speed up the swing.

Now personally I just like thinking about moving my left knee towards the target to start the downswing. And I suggest you try that golf swing trigger as well.

If you get this sequencing correct from the backswing to downswing you’ll gain a lot of distance and the golf swing will be a lot easier for you. Try ityou’ll love the results!

Nick Bayley is a professional golfer who has discovered just one golf swing fault that could be stopping you from ball striking consistency and success. But luckily for you, now you can take a simple 2 minute golf swing test to see if you have this swing fault or not. So don’t delay! Go here to take The Golf Swing Test now: www.yourgolfswingtest.com

A Simple Golfswing

A simple golfswing is a thing of beauty and contrary to popular opinion a simple golfswing is not as difficult to achieve as you may believe. A simple golfswing is the key golf instruction success factor for a consistent and repeatable move.

What you need to master the simple golfswing is the right technique. Many people look for the right tips, right maneuvers, or the secret to a simple golfswing and if you’re an avid golfer, the first thing you will want to do is to master the simple golfswing - which is actually not a too difficult task to achieve. The best way to quickly lower your golf scores is to build a better, simple golfswing. Remember, just a mad swing at the golf ball is not what’s going to achieve reasonable or desirable results on a golf course. If you keep your swing consistent you will soon see that you will always hit the ball straight. A simple golfswing is what drives your score. Develop a simple golfswing once and for all. Just imagine having a consistent and repeatable golfswing!

Gaining extra distance and greatly improving your accuracy is easy with a simple golfswing. Firstly, understanding the mechanics of a golfswing and how different parts of your body affect your swing and the entire shot is vitally important. Your stance also plays an important part here as if you are too upright or knees are bent too much it will be more difficult to execute a good backswing and you will lose balance either at the top of your backswing or at the follow through part of the swing. This is caused through your stance being too narrow or too wide. If you look at any of the really good players, you will see that they actually initiate the downswing by pulling the club down with their arms. They do NOT start the downswing by twisting the chest towards the target. Initially, just focus on the set-up, top of the back swing and follow-through positions. Once you have visualized those three positions it is pretty easy to get a simple golfswing happening.

With a simple golfswing, you’ll be able to enjoy and play golf the rest of your life. Others have made the golf swing far too complex.

Financial misery forces Brown to abandon plans for early election

The combination of a slowing UK economy and his chancellor’s first budget may finally force Gordon Brown to shelve any plans he had for calling a general election in early 2009, as voters will be forced to tighten their belts over the next year.

Rumours from Labour insiders suggested that the beleaguered PM had hoped that he could secure the keys to number 10 for another five years by calling an early election. But, the effects of the global credit crunch are hitting the UK economy harder than expected, thus prompting Brown’s advisors to believe it would be unwise to risk being ousted at the first attempt.

Chancellor Alistair Darling indicated during his first budget statement that public finances, now well in the red, are not expected to return to credit until 2010 at the earliest. Brown must call an election by May 2010 at the latest, so he may well wait until the absolute limit, hoping that the current economic woes will be reversed by then. Even revised growth figures for 2008 - 2010 issued by the chancellor are viewed as optimistic by many financial analysts, who believe there is definitely more gloom ahead, before signs of any recovery.

Recently, leading lender Nationwide announced that house prices had fallen for the fifth consecutive month, and with mortgages costing most far more than in previous years many homeowners are feeling the pinch. Those borrowers who own cars and like to drink or smoke have also been affected by the chancellor’s tax increases during his first budget; the cost of a bottle of spirits rose by 55p and a pint of beer will now cost 4p more, while cigarettes cost another 11p for a pack of 20.

Increases in vehicle excise duty have also added to motorists’ woes. The cost of motoring has risen drastically, even before the budget increases. Buying a vehicle is now more expensive as car credit rates have increased in line with base rate rises and other lending options. In addition, petrol now costs 20 per cent more than it did at this time last year, and insurance costs have also risen faster than inflation.

Add increased motoring costs to council tax rises, throw in the impact of inflation-busting increases in domestic fuel and utility costs, and then top it off with increased duties then it’s easy to see why the ‘feel good’ factor has rapidly eroded. With so much financial misery on the horizon, if you were Gordon Brown, would you opt for a general election right now?

No, and neither will Gordon!

Like a high-performance engine that stalls when it leaks oil, water or fuel, a golf swing comes to an idling stop when the potential energy created in the backswing is emptied well before impact. Here are three tips designed to boost your golf swing speed and keep power from leaking out of your game.

Make A “Differential” Impact
When you watch long-hitting players on the PGA Tour, pay attention to the relationship of their hips and shoulders at impact. The secret formula here is what I like to call 30/5. At impact, the hips should be open about 30 degrees, and the shoulders open somewhere between zero and five degrees. Practice a few golf swings with a mirror and hold your impact position. If your hips are square and shoulders are open, keep making practice swings until you get a feel for the 30/5 ratio.

Find Your Slot
Often, golfers will try to increase their swing speed by overpowering the downswing with their arms and shoulders, regrettably resulting in the dreaded over-the-top move and slice-induced blow to the ball. Real power comes from delivering the club on the correct angle. Midway through the downswing, the clubshaft should bisect the right forearm (left for left-handers). Make a practice swing with a mirror to your right and, at 3⁄4 of the way down, stop and verify that the clubhead passes over your right elbow in the mirror. Perform this drill in slow motion first until you get a feel for correctly “slotting” the club. Once you do, you can kiss the over-the-top, smothered shot goodbye.

Release And Rotate
A proper release through impact guarantees the maximum release of energy into the ball. A fundamentally solid release features extended arms following contact, with the right forearm positioned above the left forearm. In addition, the forearms should be touching. To make sure you’re fully extended through impact, place a sweatband, watch or towel (attached with a rubber band) on your left forearm. Following impact, you should feel your right forearm touch the worn item. Practice this move until you no longer need a reminder and you’ll soon find yourself a few extra yards down the fairway.

Master your golf swing with golf instruction videos from the pros.

Up for grabs is the opportunity to take full advantage of today’s latest technology which can analyze the swinging of a golf club frame by frame, millimeter by millimeter & apply this modern wizardry to our golf swings!

Our contemporary golf industry has an infinite array of high tech, faster than a speeding bullet, space age equipment designed to “break down” the swings of our super star players. Thanks to these technocrats, who do all the work & hand us the results, we are able to cut and paste the information directly to our own golf swings! Only a Neanderthal would dig a golf swing out of the dirt like the out of date “old timers” did. With today’s electronic gadgetry at our beck and call, why do “IT” the hard way?

The point of impact is the intersection at which the “accident” takes place, preciously when & where the head of a golf club slams into the unsuspecting dimpled sphere sitting patiently on a wooden pedestal! That’s where the sperm and the egg embrace.

Stop the camera at that lightening fast blur and steal all we can from that dash of time reaping the bag full of priceless rare jewels. At long last the mysteries of the gifted are shared with we less privileged mortal souls…i.e. tips to transform our inept golf swings into incredible ball crushing machinery. The rabbit is pulled from the magician’s hat. We now know how much the golfers knee flexes at that mini-moment, right and left elbow shape, spine torque, wrist flex, grip pressure, lower to upper body X-factor, shoulder ratio & it’s relationship to hard or soft spikes, the reaction of titanium versus platinum heads, & fiber strands versus cold rolled steel shafts!

Today’s designer swings, single axle, double clutching, rubber burnin’, nitro fuel powered un -natural golf swings are the brain child of the golf industry more specifically the teaching golf instructor, the magazine publisher, the Golf Channel, the carnival barker & the vizored chap with the pencil thin mustache & Chesterfield cigarette running the shell game. So brazen, they rob without a mask and are oblivious to the rolling security cameras. This brain laundering approach makes lots of folks…..lots of wampum.

If you’ve been sucker punched into falling for their lunacy, shame on you, enjoy your stay in no-mans land and get set to havin’ yo’ butt whopped by those using common sense.

The significant time period that will go down in history should, hereafter, be referred to as the Golden Age of The Golf Swing… before computers, high speed film and all the other gadgets that were NEVER used by the classic swingers & absolutely do NOT apply to how the golf swing truly functions. For you see, Mr.Common Sense, the golf swing is way too quick for us mortals to effect the changes the Golf Industry Thieves are pitching at us. They continue using their marketing approach because “we buy it.” “The rich get rich and the poor golfer gets poorer, in the meantime, in between time “Ain’t they got Fun? & money to burn!”

Sam Snead, when asked how he found his elegant, graceful, fabulous golf swing replied, “It’s just like hitting a rock with a stick.” Sam didn’t know a computer from a fishing pole but he finished in 1st place 185 times, 2nd place 63 times and 3rd place 54 times. Sam finished in the top ten 358 times and in the top twenty-five 473 times. In 1954, he won his third and final Masters after defeating Ben Hogan in a memorable 18 hole playoff, and in 1959 he shot a world record 59 in a USGA sanctioned golf tournament. Sam didn’t fall for the complicated version of the golf swing… how ’bout you?

Introduced to golf at an early age, Jim became known as the “Whiz Kid” with an incredible swing and a gifted ability to instruct. At age 15, students came to him at his family owned golf course from four surrounding states for lessons. Jim attended Arizona State University at Tempe on a golf scholarship and graduated from the PGA Golf School in Long Beach California.
http://www.mcgolf.com

Golf shoppers can find deals at online discount sites with exclusive offers on the latest golf equipment right from their home or office.

As consumers take advantage of the convenience of online shopping from their home or office, discount and coupon sites have become a key factor for many online consumers. No one wants to spend more then they have to, especially with today’s’ gas prices eating into so many Americans budgets.

Web sites dedicated to the golf consumer offering discount deals are key because they are targeted to a specific audience and not as broad as some of the other discount and coupon sites that offer discounts and coupons on numerous categories from home furniture, women apparel, baby clothes and the like.

Everyday as shoppers go to the internet to find products and services, search engines put millions of retailers at your finger tips in seconds.

But golf discount partner sites, caters to the golfer who is looking to save a lot more than their golf score. It’s the golf shoppers’ chance to see some of the top online golf retail discount promotions all in one place.

Certain to bring golfers the best discounts and coupons available online, golf discount sites have created a virtual mall for golfers with some discount deals boasting savings as much as 70% off.

As the golf season continues many recreational and Sunday golfers dream of playing like the pros they see on television. If they can’t swing like Tiger or Vijay Sing they can at least play with the some of the same name brand golf equipment the pros use.

Being as good as Tiger may be wishful thinking for the weekend golfer but with a lot of practice and determination anything is possible, especially with the right golf equipment.

The number one advantage golf consumers have for using golf discount sites is that they can see which online golf store is running promotions and sales at any given time. And with a list of golf store promotions at hand the only thing left to do is to pull out the credit card.

To learn more about golf discounts online visit www.igolfalot.com.

Some Golf Tools You Need On The Course

There are many golf tools available that a golfer may use. There are tools used to help improve a golfer’s game and tools to help keep the golf equipment in good condition. Then there are tools used to repair and even assemble golf equipment. Depending on the needs of the golfer, he or she may want to have several different types of tools, or just a couple of specific ones.

A basic tool used by golfers and is quite useful to always have available in ones golf bag is a golf ball marking tool. These are used to mark the position of a golfer’s ball so that the ball can be removed so it does not obstruct another’s hit. There is a wide variety of these simple yet important tools. There are some golf ball marking tools that are magnetic, making it easier for the golfer to pick up the marker from off the ground. Then there are markers that come in sets along with other tools, such as tees. These golf tee and marker sets can come as a keychain, which makes them able to attach to the golfers bag making them very easy to find.

Golfers know that it is best to be courteous while on the golf course. They also know that some people are not as courteous as others are. For this reason, one tool that is very convenient to most any golfer is a golf divot tool. These tools fix the divots that are caused by clubs as balls are hit. Divot tools can come as a separate tool, or again, like the ball markers, they can come as a set, such as a divot tool and ball marker set. These tools are very useful to have in a golfers bag to have available whenever they are needed while on the course. There are some that even come in a three in one tool that includes not only the divot tool and ball marker but a shoehorn as well.

For some golfers, one or two tools is simply not enough, and carrying around a dozen tools does not seem like a good option either. These golfers most likely appreciate Swiss army golf tools, which combines several tools all together. These tools usually include a ball marker, divot repair tool, and tools to help clean and maintain both balls and clubs. Like a Swiss army knife, these versatile tools also include items such as nail clippers, nail files, and tweezers.

Golf grip tools, are also a great tool to have available in a person’s golf bag. These grips give the golfer better control and overall performance, and makes a golfers clubs more personalized, depending on the golfers own particular needs and likes in clubs.

Golf putting tools are also great for golfers to have on hand. Among these tools are putting mats that gives the golfer a chance to practice their putting virtually anywhere that is convenient for them.

In order to keep a golfers club at top condition and ultimately improving ones game it is a good idea to have a golf cleaning tool. These electric devices can be taken anywhere and used anytime a club needs to be cleaned, even while on the course. A clean club means more control and accuracy for the golfer.

These are just a few tools that are available for a golfer as he or she seeks to improve his or her game or just maintain equipment such as clubs and even the golf courses that are played on. It is wise to have a few of the basic tools such as ball markers and divot repair tools which are easy to obtain and easy to carry around. As a golfer becomes more involved in his or her game, other tools may become important as well.

Know Yourself- Get Fitted Properly
Before laying down a chunk of cash on golf clubs, it is imperative that you know what clubs to look for. I suggest a club fitting be a certified professional club maker. That is an investment every serious golfer should make, but less than 10% actually do this. And by the way, trying out a couple of different clubs at a Demo-Day does not constitute a proper club fitting. If you purchase discount golf clubs and think you have saved a bundle, what good is it if the clubs are wrong for you? Thus, if you are looking for a discounted driver, for example, you should know exactly what kind of clubhead, loft angle, shaft, club length and grip are right for you. If you know all of this, then and only then does it behoove you to purchase any clubs, be they new, used, or discount golf clubs.

Ebay Auctions
I have heard that Ebay is the largest seller of used cars in the U.S. right now. I don’t know if that is a fact for certain, but they sell a lot of golf clubs as well. A search today for “golf clubs” yielded over 15,000 active auctions. So you have a lot to choose from on Ebay. You must know exactly what you are looking for, as discussed above. If you find just the right club or clubs, be sure to check out the rating of the seller. If the seller has good ratings from past auctions, it is probably safe to assume he or she is honest and you can send them money without much worry. If there is any doubt, forget it. You must be as confident as possible that the seller is honest. Of course this goes for any Ebay auction, not just for discount golf clubs. For your convenience, some Ebay auctions are listed on this web page and several others on this site. If you click an Ebay ad on our site and then make a purchase, we do make a small commission (full disclosure). This helps offset some of the costs to run the site and doesn’t affect your purchase price in any way.

Golfsmith
I’ve always liked Golfsmith and have built a good number of clubs using components purchased from them. They have an excellent web site with tons of information. You can certainly save money buying components from Golfsmith and building the clubs, if you are up for that. Golfsmith has a lot of good instructional information as well regarding club building. If you have had a proper club fitting and know what to purchase, this is a good option. It’s really not that difficult. Golfsmith also has a trade-in service, and you can get a discount on a new set of clubs by trading in your old ones. This also means they have lots of pre-owned clubs for sale. Check out the pre-owned section of their site, and you can find some pretty good deals. You can pinpoint what you want by using the search box on the site. You have two levels of protection here, the established integrity of Golfsmith and the brand of the clubs your are buying.

Discount Golf Clubs at Pro Shops
I recently was in a local pro shop and they had a new Cleveland hybrid for sale for half price. The reason it was half price was because it was last year’s model. Golf pro shops have outdated equipment on sale all the time because they want to get rid of old inventory. The company, Cleveland Golf in this case, surely made a few tweaks to the clubs from one year to the next, but there probably isn’t anything close to revolutionary (unless you believe the marketing pitch), and last year’s model will work just fine. But, as always, that’s only the case if the clubs fit you.

Discount Web Sites
Watch out here. Many discount clone or knockoff clubs look good, but if you don’t know better they were probably made in a low quality factory in China using inferior materials and workmanship. Unless you can be certain the clubs were made in a factory with high quality materials and manufacturing processes, it’s best to pass on the deal. What we are looking for here are discount golf clubs, not garbage golf clubs.

And remember, get yourself a serious club fitting by a certified clubmaker. You’ll get more out of your game whether you are buying the most expensive set of brand name clubs or a set of discount golf clubs. He can also probably get you into an excellent set of custom made clubs along with the fitting for about the price of just buying a brand name set without any club fitting. I also recommend reading Tom Wishon’s excellent book “The Search for the Perfect Golf Club”.

I came back from a round of golf and was curious to find out if there were any free golf training videos on the market. Needless to say, when I typed the words into Google, an overwhelming number of results came up! If there ever was any question of how to play golf, there shouldn’t be. Free golf training videos will answer all of them.

Here are some examples of a couple of great ones available:

At LearnAboutGolf, there’s a free golf training video teaching you how to get a ball out of the bunker without it flying off into all directions or rolling back into the sand. The instructor is very personable and friendly. Check it out, it’s worth it!

The DreamSwing offers a free golf training video online. The video depicts exactly what it takes to make that perfect swing using The DreamSwing. A golf instructor actually gives you step by step training on how to obtain the perfect swing using The DreamSwing. The goal of the video is to teach you how to remain on the perfect planes with your arms and club. Many other website also offer free training videos to help you improve your swing and your score.

Many free golf training videos will show you how the professionals do it and provide inspiration for the overall improvement of your game. As I watched these videos, I was inspired to actually try the tips myself. The videos give you a bird’s eye view of exactly what it takes to come in under par. The instructors are well-versed in their golf game. It’s almost like having a professional teach you right in your own living room. Plus, they go through the motions of the swing and techniques very slowly so that you can learn as efficiently as possible.

I think that free golf training videos are essential to every golfer’s game. They offer valuable insight at no cost and, if you’re lucky, you can find one that is instructed by a pro. The video quality is usually very good so that you can actually see the fluid movement of a correct golf swing or technique that the instructor is trying to convey.

The instructions are slow enough so that you don’t have to pause and replay the video in order to have the best understanding of the instructions. Most free golf training videos can be played with a Windows Media Player directly from the Internet. So, take the time to look up free golf training videos. Your golf buddies will come to you for advice.

A Brief Introduction to the World of Golf

Golf is a grand old game, depending on how you look at it. There are those of course (no pun intended) who claim that “Golf is nothing more than a good walk spoiled” – pah! Heresy I say.

Remember when Golf was by and large understood to be a summer sport? Now those were the days. You used to get all excited come March / April time when the US Masters from Augusta was televised, then it was not long before the Open Championship from usually some wind swept piece of sand and gorse somewhere in Scotland. After that it was headlong into the US Open and the US PGA.

Before you knew it the season was over and you were busy packing your clubs away and counting the days until the next season started.

Not any longer however!

We now have this slightly strange situation whereby the PGA European Tour which stands for the Professional Golfers Association now has events in the far East and elsewhere worldwide so that golfing is now a fair weather sport just anywhere in the world (outside of the USA as far as the PGA European Tour are concerned) as long as the sun is shining and the weather is OK!

This latter fact is interesting in that it now a case of Golf being a truly worldwide and universal sport (wasn’t even Neil Armstrong famously filmed playing a form of golf on the moon?) that can be played by almost anyone.

There are golf courses in nearly every community in the United States and the world over. The majority all offer tee times that are available to pre book when you make reservations but by and large golf is a game that you must by and large plan ahead. Most things in golf are achievable but nearly all of them are achievable if you plan ahead well in time.

How golf got its start is a fascinating topic that all golfers want to know more about, and the game has a history rich in culture and lore.

Scotland has long been believed to be where golfing originated. Golf was played at what is now as the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R & A), and this led to a law being put in place by the then King, King James in 1457. The kings soldiers were spending too much time on the game and not enough time on archery practice and therefore made the game illegal. Early accounts of the game are also seen in depictions inside England’s Gloucester Cathedral dating back to 1340.

The word “golf” is based on the Dutch word “kolf,” which refers to a “bat, smash or fasten,” and hence may give credence to the idea that golf began in the Netherlands. Apparently there was a game where you place an ball in a hole in the ice, and this was called “ice kolf,” which might be seen as how the land-based form of the game developed i.e. less seasonal. More lately, a German scholar has found early depictions of the game of “Kolven,” which was a game about putting a ball into a hole, and this supposedly helps to set the sport’s origins in the Netherlands.

At the end of the day, none of this is important, what is important is the fact that more and more people are playing the game and that only has to be good for the sport.

Scott James writes about a number of Sports and Leisure based issues such as UK Golf Courses and European Golf Courses.
Statistically the most influential and important part of the Golfers arsenal is his putter and the ability to make it work properly for him or her.

How many times have we seen major championships decided because certain players had problems with their short game?

Amateurs and Professional Golfers alike all suffer every now and then from the dreaded nerves brought by the inability to cope with successfully negotiating three-foot puts.

As I mentioned, punting is probably the greatest leveller in golf. Not everyone can smash a ball 3 - 400 yards down the fairway, not everybody can master the correct technique to dig themselves out of the rough on regular basis.

But, if you cannot master the above techniques to the standard that the other professionals at the moment can the one area of the course that you can very successfully play catch-up is when it gets round to putting.

Putting probably more than any other aspect of golf has seen the strangest techniques and the weirdest collection of clubs. How many times have we seen some of the world’s finest players adopting some of the daftest practices when they walk onto the green. Do we all remember the fashion at one time when it was cool to be seen putting with a club that has an elongated handle and had to be balance using the golfers chin.

Off the top of my head I can think of at least two of Europe’s top golfers who at some point have used this technique, Scotland’s Sam Torrance and Germany’s Bernhardt Langer.

But probably if you were to ask a couple of top golf coaches and sports psychologists will they felt was going wrong with these golfers the moment they hit the grain, I would wager the majority of these advisers would come back and say it all revolves around one word – tension with a Capital T.

The technique or one of the techniques that sports psychologists use to overcome this is to regulate the briefing. Possibly the master of this technique on the professional tour today, is the South African golfer Ernie Ells.

Not called The Big Easy for nothing, Ells’ secret lies with the fact that he believed deeply, calmly and serenely. This affects the pace he plays golf and his overall mental agility and awareness.

The next time you get a chance to watch Ernie Ells play, watch his relaxed style. Internally and mentally at times I am sure he is reacting like every other golfer in the game and he is probably have been just as many mental battles as the rest of us. The reason he probably manages to overcome quite so many of these battles is that he does not allow mental anguish to a variety his physical approach and style.

So how can we mere mortals emulate this style? Simple, regulate your breathing. When you walk onto the green use a three step technique.

Step one, breath in through your nose to the count or four. Step 2 Breathe out through your nose to the count of four. Step three, relax and take your put.

Go on give it a try, surprise your self.

Scott James writes about a number of Sports and Leisure based issues such as UK Golf Courses and European Golf Courses.

Use Golf Instruction To Become A Star Player

You might already think that you are Tiger Woods, but the only way you can really become a better player is to get some sort of golf instruction. Even professional players use golf instruction so it should be good enough for you too. We all have areas of our game that we need to work on, and it can be hard to be objective about your own game and your faults. However, having a good golf instructor help you iron out the problems in all areas of your game will make you a more consistent and complete player.

When looking for the best golf instruction, follow my advice to get the most value for your money.

Personal coach

Getting a private coach can be costly, but there is really no better way to learn. With a few lessons under the right coach you can see instant improvements in your golf game, with better consistency and lower scores. If you want to get a head start when you first start playing golf then getting a one-to-one instruction is a must. If you can get the basics right with a coach then you will be in a great position to improve your game in the future.

Videos and manuals

Although not as helpful as having a private coach, there are many good manuals and golf instruction videos on the market. It will often cost you much less than a private instructor. However, make sure you only pick videos that are recommended by official organizations or professional players. Don’t expect to improve your game overnight from these videos, as it will still take plenty of self discipline and practice to get better.

Be your own golf instructor

You can learn alot from being your own coach. Use the golf instruction you pay for to learn how to see problems in your game and improve them yourself. Also, watch good players and pay attention to everything they do well. Use these techniques in your own game and you can help to iron out the problems independently.

Yes, there will be times when golf instruction is the only option, but you can save yourself money by learning how to identify minor problems yourself.

This Is How You Play Fearless Golf

The person who is relaxed and confident plays a better game of golf than one whose knees are shaking at the thought of sand traps. Fear is one thing you never want to take with you to the driving range.

Before we begin, know that my goal is to give you as much useful information as I can fit in this article.

One of the biggest problem every golfer has to face is the mental aspect. Thinking clearly really is the name of the game. And thinking clearly is not possible when fear reigns.

So if you change the way you think, your game will change. Don’t worry why the ball flew where it did. Just keep your focus on the next shot.

Some golfers constantly worry what others will think of them if they make a bad shot. If you’re thinking about how someone else is going to perceive you, you’re not focusing on the ball, on your swing, on the basics.

Who cares if others don’t like your game. In the grand scheme of life, is hitting a bad shot truly a disaster you can never overcome?

Psychologists tell us that we tend to become a composite of the five persons we spend the most time with. Maybe you need to find some more relaxed friends to practice with.

If you constantly play with perfectionist you will not enjoy the game as much. Find friends you can play with just for the sake of having fun. Your game will likely improve as you’re less tense and able to swing more freely.

Ben Hogan wrote that “to ignore the gallery and the other golfers, and to shut my mind against everything but my own game” was key to his success.

Worrying about what others think creates inconsistency. You’re overly aggressive one second and overly conservative the next.

So what is the key?

Focus on the target, not the situation. Ignore the stakes. Just concentrate on your game. Sounds simple? well, it is.

Even top players have to refine their skills every year. They’re making small improvements in little ways that add up. You’re not always going to play your best game, and you’ll never play a perfect one - no matter how skilled you are. Focus on correcting little faults and your game will gradually get better and better.

Forget about your bad shots. As Tiger Woods says, “I hit it and forget it.” You can’t go back in time and change a shot, so just forget about it and prepare for your next shot.

You’ll soon become a master of fearless golf!

This putting tip was recommended to me not to long ago, and I wanted to pass it along. It should help you develop a sense of ‘feel’ with your putts.

Find a level practice green. Line up several golf balls about twenty feet or so from the fringe of the green.

Line up over the first ball and take your regular putting stroke, putting toward the fringe. Do not look up at your shot immediately after impact. Instead keep your head down and guess where the putt will stop. Will it be long? Short? Perfect?

After you’ve made your guess based on what you ‘feel’, look up and watch exactly where the golf ball comes to a stop compared to your estimate. Putt through all your practice balls in the same manner.

This exercise separates your sense of sight from your sense of touch. Therefore, you can understand why it’s important to make your guess of where the ball will land before you look up and get the feedback of your sight.

After making your guess look up and follow the path of your putt, watching it come to a complete stop. This will give your brain added feedback and accelerate the process of developing the proper ‘feel’ to putting. See how quickly your guesses become accurate and all your putts begin finishing in the same position, close to the fringe of the green.

A additional benefit to this simple drill is that will teach you to keep your head down and still while putting. As fundamental as it sounds, keeping a still head is imperative to mastering your putting stroke.

I also like this drill because you aren’t putting to a specific target - a golf hole. Instead, you’re putting to a general area. This is a great muscle memory technique that will allow your putting stroke to become a lot smoother and more consistent. Shooting to an area rather than a target should allow you to learn to putt from a more relaxed position, ridding tension from your putts. Tension is, of course, the death nil to any putt.

Once you’ve experimented with this exercise on a flat surface, try it on others as well: downhill, uphill, and undulating. It shouldn’t take you long to develop a feel for whatever putting situation that presents itself on the golf course.

Stan Thomas has been playing golf since before dirt covered the earth. He knows he’ll never master the game, but he can’t deny the quest.
